Dye-sensitized solar cells based on anatase Ti[O.sub.2] nanoparticle/nanowire composites
Article Abstract:
The composites of anatase Ti[O.sub.2] nanoparticles and single-crystalline anatase Ti[O.sub.2] nanowires are used as electrodes to fabricate dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) and the effect of the relative nanowire/nanoparticle ratio on the performance of solar cells is investigated. The results have shown that by controlling the concentration of nanowires, nanoparticle/nanowire composites can possess the high surface area of nanoparticle aggregates along with long electron diffusion length and light scattering effect of single-crystalline nanowires, hence representing a promising method for improving the efficiencies of sensitized solar cells.

Light-induced charge separation in anatase TiO2 particles
Article Abstract:
A study of ultraviolet light-induced electron-hole excitations in anatase TiO2 powders is presented by a combination of electron paramagnetic resonance and infrared spectroscopy measurements. It is concluded that under high vacuum conditions, the major fraction of photoexcited electrons remains in the conduction band.

Organic pigment particles coated with titania via sol-gel process
Article Abstract:
A novel method is presented for the organic pigment coated with titania to improve the weatherability and dispersion ability in waterborne system. The organic pigment was first orderly adsorbed by two kinds of electrolyte and then coated by titania via sol-gel process from titanium n-butoxide (TBOT).
